Company Lawyer

We are seeking a competent and proactive Company Lawyer to support a dynamic group of companies. The ideal candidate must possess strong legal knowledge, practical courtroom experience, and the ability to manage corporate legal matters efficiently.
The successful candidate will work closely with a Senior Lawyer and must be comfortable operating in a structured professional environment while also handling responsibilities independently.
This role requires someone who understands business operations not just legal theory and can confidently protect the company’s interests.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements
- Provide legal advisory services across companies within the group
- Represent the company in court and other legal proceedings
- Handle litigation matters and liaise with external counsel when necessary
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian laws and regulatory requirements
- Manage dispute resolution and legal risk mitigation
- Maintain proper documentation of legal records and agreements
- Provide legal opinions to management on operational and strategic matters
- Collaborate directly with the Senior Lawyer on key legal strategies
Must Have
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree (mandatory)
- Must be called to the Nigerian Bar
- Strong understanding of court procedures and litigation processes
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience (corporate and litigation experience preferred)
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Must be based in Lagos
- Must be able to work remotely when required
- Must be available to work during Central Time (U.S.) business hours
